Exciting news and a card share

Happy Saturday my fellow crafty friends!!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  It is rainy here today but that is so much safer than the crazy snow and ice storms we had a few weeks ago.  I took some time to create in my "craft corner" today and wanted to share a card I made with you BUT first I have an exciting announcement to make -

I am on the My ScrapChick Design Team for 2017!!
I am way beyond excited for this opportunity -
I have always loved the files from My ScrapChick and own so many of them already
and now I get to play with even more!!!

Now to share the card I made with you -

A couple of years ago I signed up for a Kit and Clowder Skin and Hair online class.  I must confess I have been a dropout student ;) Life got busy and I didn't keep up with the work.  But I did learn a few things along the way - still need some practice with hair.  I used my Spectrum Noir Markers and the bullet tips are definitely trickier when it comes to the "flicking" technique.

The image I colored is from "Whimsie Doodles" and is a freebie!!  I am going to enter it into their monthly challenge "Anything Goes with an Optional Twist - It Must Be Love".  Thanks for stopping by today!!

"Surprise!"

Surprise!!  I'm back :-)  I took a little break from blogging and also from crafting the last couple of months.  I took some time to recover from a car accident that happened in August.  Nothing major thankfully but it did take time to buy a new car (mine was totaled) and I had weekly appointments for chiropractic and massage (I did enjoy these appointments!).  We also had to put down our fur baby in September and that was a difficult month or so.  My oldest daughter moved out this past July after she got married and then my middle daughter moved out in mid December to be closer to her job.  I am down to one kiddo at home now.   Lots of changes happened!!  I also am not currently on a design team so I don't have any deadlines or specific products to use to spur on my creativity.  However I have missed my crafting time and recently took advantage of the snow days here in the Pacific Northwest to pull out some "new to me" stamps and play.  I decided to put together a card to enter it into the MFT Sketch Challenge.

I just love these adorable birthday bears!!  I challenged myself to work with more of a pastel color scheme.  I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to do all of my coloring.

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge -

My images and sentiment are from MFT's Birdie Brown "Beary Special Birthday" Stamp Set and I used a strip of patterned paper from MFT's "Homespun Gingham" 6x6 paper pad.  The sequins were from my stash.  I don't own the coordinating dies so I am still challenging myself to perfect my skills with my Silhouette Pixscan mat which I used with my scanner and my Cameo.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
